Achieving the ultimate result through strength and conditioning training is Chris' passion at The Gym Academy. Since childhood Chris has been into sport,which encouraged him to apply his knowledge through studying and obtaining a Sport and Exercise Science degree.  This put him in a good position to make his career in fitness, health and personal training, areas in which he continues to study to expand and deepen his knowledge, taking the opportunity to apply the latest understanding and techniques with his clients at The Gym Academy.

Kate has been surrounded by fitness all her life, growing up with a mother who is a personal trainer
and Pilates expert. A county level lacrosse player, she started weight training ten years ago.
Noticing the dramatic impact it had on her own body shape she realised it was the best way to

increase fitness, fat loss, rehabilitation, and muscle tone. This motivated her to continuously educate
herself about strength conditioning training and nutrition, knowledge which she brings to her clients
at The Gym Academy on a daily basis.

Thriving on the progress of people who have struggled to make exercise and healthy eating a part of their lives, Kate educates her clients to make better choices with food, which enables them to keep their body the strongest, fittest and healthiest it can be both inside and out, mind and body.

Kate will provide you with the tools and support to make realistic changes. She believes that exercise should be enjoyable especially with someone there to spur you on and encourage you to push yourself towards your own personal goals.

A highly accomplished Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Ian has over ten years' experience working across Olympic and Professional sport. Previously Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach at the English Institute of Sport, Ian spent six years working with the ECB (England Cricket) and the RFU (England Rugby), and has coached many international athletes, including Olympic, World and Commonwealth Games medallists across 2 Olympic cycles. As an international athlete with the Great Britain Bobsleigh Team, Ian competed at European and World Championship level, and brings this experience to his clients’ training. Whatever your training goals, through meticulous programme design, expert training and support, Ian will ensure you are best placed to achieve them.

Laura has been a passionate sportswoman since an early age, which led into a successful career in
sport. She achieved a degree in Sports Therapy and is a member of the Society of Sports Therapists.
She has a particular passion for sports therapy, personal training, and is currently supporting a
range of teams and individuals in their training, pre-match preparation and post-match
rehabilitation.


Specialising in getting the very best out of every individual she trains, treats, and regularly surprises
clients at the levels she helps them achieve!


She has experienced working with elite level, high performance teams in the UK, Australia and Canada (football, rugby, rugby league, American football, netball) as well as helping individuals who want to improve their health and fitness.

With qualifications in advanced deep tissue massage, remedial massage, and stretching techniques, and many years as a therapist, Laura has knowledge and understanding of the many limiting muscle problems and injuries that clients experience. She is passionate about helping her clients understand the reasons for their symptoms and how to rectify them.

Chiropractic therapy is a true passion of Gurjot's which personally helped him in my teens to correct imbalances he had and to relieve pain and discomfort when playing tennis competitively.

 

Chiropractic therapy showed Gurjot another side to healthcare to which he hadn’t been exposed. Being encouraged to carry on playing tennis, while receiving treatment was an innovative and welcome from the ‘rest, reduce the amount you play and take painkillers’ that was the standard medical approach to injury at the time.


Since then he has developed a keen interest in weight training and spinal rehabilitation.

Seeing patients get back on their feet, get back to doing what they enjoy and ultimately enjoy their life again is what motivates him every day.

As a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapis,t Megan has worked with a range of clients and  difficulties from low mood to severe and chronic physical health problems.  Megan feels particularly passionate about working with individuals who have health and fitness goals as she has seen throughout her career how physical and mental health interact and that by supporting emotional wellbeing, physical health can be massively improved.
